Oggi Carlo indossa i panni del artista dedito solo ed esclusivamente alla produzione di marmi decorati e complementi d’arredo: oggetti unici e irripetibili, che solo le mani di un artigiano che ama e conosce la materia, possono creare.
Nella realizzazione delle sue opere, Carlo non lascia nulla al caso. Studia, il manufatto secondo i canoni della sezione Aurea: la matematica e la geometria concorrono quindi non solo alla produzione di un oggetto armonioso nelle forme ma stabiliscono anche una connessione con quelli che anticamente venivano considerati veri e propri canoni di bellezza.
Un colore diverso, una sfumatura più chiara, più scura, un oggetto inconsueto, un bagliore di luce più forte, un’esperienza più autentica: tutto può essere fonte d’ispirazione, il gesto artistico non si esaurisce alla realizzazione dell’opera in sé ma, in maniera embrionale, parte da dentro, dalla mente allenata di un raffinato artigiano che fa del suo lavoro una passione vitale.
Tra il 2013 e il 2019 Carlo si sposta in Turchia, dove inizia una proficua collaborazione con Tureks Turchia, dove assume il ruolo Product Manager e responsabile di ricerca e sviluppo. Anche qui sovraintende a tutta la produzione della decorazione su piastrelle, dal design fino al prodotto finito.
Carlo vola negli USA alla Marble System Inc, dove presta ancora una volta la sua consulenza in qualità di Product Manager e head di ricerca e sviluppo. Porta la sua specializzazione presso lo studio Ramsey Stone, studio tecnico di progettazione e consulenza tecnica a Londra.
Durante tutti questi anni Carlo non ha mai smesso di ricercare, studiare e fare innovazione. Dal ‘solco’ dell’acquaforte ha creato infatti un segno distintivo, un marchio unico ed originale, il Laquè.
Nel 1999, memore delle speranze che suo padre Raffaele riponeva in lui, Carlo decide di partire in Argentina, dove studia e lavora per un intero anno presso “Studio Prima”, sotto gli occhi sapienti del maestro Hugo Bèrtora. È qui che Carlo impara e fa sua l’antica arte dell’acquaforte, incidendo marmo e altri materiali e dando vita a nuovissime espressioni della materia.
Dall’azienda di famiglia nasce ArteApulia che, con il marchio Le Chianche, porta sul territorio una grande trasformazione. L’azienda si fa spazio nel settore e ritaglia la sua nicchia d’élite anche grazie alla partecipazione ad alcune importanti fiere in Italia e all’estero: Coverings negli USA, Cersaie a Bologna, MarmoMac a Verona, la Design Week in UK, il Salone del Mobile di Milano e altre fiere di settore in Norimberga. Di fatto, ArteApulia è la prima azienda sul territorio italiano ad operare questo tipo di cambiamento, mettendo in primo piano una vena artistica e creativa che esigeva di diventare protagonista.
Today, Carlo steps into the role of an artist devoted exclusively to creating decorated marble pieces and home furnishings: unique and unrepeatable objects that only the hands of an artisan who truly knows and loves the material can bring to life.
When crafting his works, Carlo leaves nothing to chance. He designs each piece according to the principles of the Golden Ratio: mathematics and geometry not only shape an object that is harmonious in form, but also establish a connection with what were once considered true canons of beauty.
A different color, a lighter or darker shade, an unusual object, a brighter flash of light, a more authentic experience — anything can serve as inspiration. The artistic gesture does not end with the creation of the piece itself but begins, in its earliest form, from within: from the trained mind of a refined artisan who turns his craft into a vital passion.
Between 2013 and 2019, Carlo moved to Turkey, where he began a fruitful collaboration with Tureks Turkey, taking on the role of Product Manager and Head of Research and Development. Here too, he oversaw the entire production of tile decoration, from design to the finished product.
Carlo then traveled to the United States to work with Marble Systems Inc., where he once again provided his expertise as Product Manager and Head of Research and Development. He later brought his specialization to Ramsey Stone, a technical design and consultancy studio in London.
Throughout these years, Carlo has never stopped researching, studying, and innovating.
From the “groove” of etching, he created a distinctive mark — a unique and original signature — Laquè.
In 1999, remembering the hopes his father Raffaele had placed in him, Carlo decided to leave for Argentina, where he studied and worked for an entire year at Studio Prima under the expert guidance of master Hugo Bertora. It was there that Carlo learned and embraced the ancient art of etching, engraving marble and other materials and giving life to entirely new forms of expression.
From the family business, ArteApulia was born and, through the Le Chianche brand, brought significant transformation to the region. The company quickly made its mark in the industry, carving out an elite niche thanks in part to its participation in major trade fairs in Italy and abroad: Coverings in the USA, Cersaie in Bologna, MarmoMac in Verona, Design Week in the UK, the Salone del Mobile in Milan, and other sector events in Nuremberg. In fact, ArteApulia became the first company in Italy to drive this kind of change, placing at the forefront an artistic and creative vision that was ready to take center stage.
